Capillary or larger cracks on plastered surfaces.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- The most probable cause is the poor application of the plastering materials in combination with the poor quality and / or composition of the materials used.
- Earlier works (eg construction, concrete, electrical & hydraulic works) but also later (eg interventions in the final surface such as additions of ditches, roofs, etc.) of the plastering contribute to the creation of cracks.
- In, natural causes such as different behavior (contraction / expansion) of materials at points adjacent to them on a surface (eg built parapets & yards, joining beams & columns to masonry bricks, etc.).
- Accumulated moisture in the plaster, either due to fast painting before the surfaces dry well, or incomplete or non-existent insulation on ceilings, balconies, etc.
- Large & frequent temperature changes (continuous contractions / expansions of materials), and / or coloring in periods with very high or low temperatures, and / or application of colors with low elasticity index

Capillary cracks (<800μm)
Exterior surfaces: Application of elastomeric paint.
Interior surfaces
If the capillary cracks cover a large part of the surface, it is recommended that they be primed, then troweled, re-primed and painted with or some of the other plastic paints from TOXRO.MA.
If not, plastering where you work, priming and painting with Smaltoplast extra or other plastic paints from TOXRO.MA.
